Stewmans is located in bustling downtown Bar Harbor, overlooking the water. Besides being known for its fresh live lobster, it is a great place to take the family to relax and enjoy the harbor. You know this place has a sense of humor when you see the colorful woodcarving above the entrance of two lobsters partying in a hot tub!! Hey, turn down the heat in here!!! Live lobsters are kept in a tank right next to the chef’s station so that when you order, the chef just plucks one out. And you won’t believe how hospitable Chef Andre was, inviting me into the cooking area for some great lobster photos. That kind of welcome is what people look for in the staff of a restaurant, especially when they consider going back. Mgr. Matt is also topnotch!

Stewmans is pet friendly, as long as your pet isn’t a lobster! Boy was happy to see the sign at the entrance welcoming pets. Since most of Stewmans is an outdoor deck, if you prefer to avoid man’s best friend, you can simply eat inside. Stewmans is not to be missed if you are visiting Bar Harbor.
