Acadia National Park | Sightseeing from Cadillac Mountain
Acadia National Park, located in in Bar Harbor, is one of the best reasons to visit Maine. The views from on top of Cadillac Mountain are really breathtaking – and not because of the altitude! When you come into the park, take the Loop road to Cadillac Mountain. Take your time driving up the mountain because there are spots you can pull off the road and just stare at the beauty of Maine. If you go too fast, you’ll miss the pull-offs. Nobody’s in a rush here anyway. Make sure you go all the way to the top where you can park your car and get out to take pictures. Come to think of it, I’ve actually seen cyclists riding up the mountain (on the road, of course), but this is an extraordinary feat of endurance. This is one hell of a mountain to ride a bike up, believe it! From the top of the mountain you look out onto Bar Harbor – this is the “money shot”, as they say in Hollywood. You are guaranteed to bring your family back to this destination many times. In a word, magnificent.
